Continuing Education Programs
We are proud to offer a variety of AIA Approved continuing education courses designed to advance the conversation about glazing system design, performance, and beauty. Review the course offerings below, let us know about your interest, and we’ll follow up with scheduling an in-person or virtual presentation.
Our AIA Approved Courses:
Introduction to Composite Aluminum-Wood Windows
- 1-hour HSW
- This course presents an introduction to aluminum-wood composite architectural grade fixed and operable windows, and describes their thermal and structural performance, maintenance, and environmental impact.
- This content is balanced between residential and commercial projects.
Introduction to Timber Curtain Walls NEW!
- 1-hour HSW
- This course is designed to introduce architects and designers to timber curtain wall systems and provide a base of knowledge about the system’s components, thermal performance, carbon reduction benefits, structural capabilities, and customizations.
- This content is primarily directed toward commercial projects, with some residential applicability.
Integrated Façade Design NEW!
- 2-hours HSW. This can be presented as a 2.5-hour seminar or as two 1-hour sessions (ideally no more than one week apart).
- This course synthesizes recent research, codes, building certification standards, and product innovations into a comprehensive set of façade design principles for promoting health, increasing productivity, reducing energy, producing energy, harmonizing ecology, extending durability, and cultivating beauty.
- This content is primarily directed toward commercial projects.
Regenerative Facades: Biophilia and Window to Wall Ratios NEW!
- 1-hour HSW
- Environmental design research has discovered important links between human wellness and the design of building facades. Other research has quantified how vital façade performance is for energy conservation. How might this research inform the way windows and glazing systems are designed to optimize health benefits yet minimize carbon usage? This presentation will provide an overview of effective window to wall ratios for human wellness and explain why glazing system performance is critical to a building’s total energy usage.
- This content is primarily directed toward commercial projects, with some residential applicability.
